Hi Grandma & Poppy! I am still in Japan for a few more days, but I thought I'd put a few photos online now, and a few more when I get home... I'm having a great trip, except for the heat and humidity. My Japanese-speaking ability is coming back to me a little bit, too!
Hope you enjoy the photos!

This is me with my friend Rie's daughter, Hohomi-chan (at her 4-year-old brother's preschool, in Yamaguchi Prefecture).

And here are two photos of Mount Fuji that I took from a moving bullet train... I'd seen it from an airplane before, but this was the first time I've ever seen it from the train-- it's always been too cloudy before!

Here I am with my friend Mimi at a cafe in Hiroshima:

We also went to a summer lantern festival in Nara, where I've been with Jess, too, when she came to visit me in Japan!

Me backing away from a curious deer...

The giant buddha (Daibutsu) at Todaiji Temple in Nara was lit up and open at night for the festival.

My first visit to Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto:

And my third visit to Kyomizu-dera (Pure Water) Temple in Kyoto-- I've also been there with mom and George, and with Jess!
